Terms of Service.
Welcome to NyChat. These rules govern your use of our zero-knowledge network. We built this sanctuary for private communication—please respect the architecture.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or utilizing the NyChat platform (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes, but your continued use of the Service following any revisions constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
2. Service Description
NyChat provides ephemeral, end-to-end encrypted communication rooms. The Service operates strictly in-memory. We do not provision persistent database storage for user communications.
3. User Conduct
Because NyChat operates a zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot actively moderate or read your conversations. Therefore, we rely on our users to maintain the integrity of the network. By initiating a WebSocket connection, you agree to the following:
Permitted Use
- • Whistleblowing and secure journalism.
- • Private corporate communications.
- • Personal, off-the-record dialogue.
- • Sharing sensitive intellectual property.
Strictly Prohibited
- • Distribution of CSAM or exploitative material.
- • Organizing acts of terrorism or violence.
- • Attempting to DDoS or overwhelm the relay nodes.
- • Reverse engineering the cryptographic protocol.
4. Limitation of Liability
NyChat is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
In no event shall NyChat, nor its directors, employees, or agents, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data loss, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of the platform.
5. Service Termination
Because NyChat requires no user accounts, "termination" refers to the blocking of specific IP addresses or the dropping of active WebSockets connections.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to our relay nodes immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
Cryptographic Agreement
To proceed to the application, acknowledge your understanding of our zero-knowledge architecture and terms of use.
